For over 20 years, the Mountains Recreation & Conservation Authority’s Outdoor Education program has been providing deeply meaningful outdoor experiences to children who have limited access and familiarity with nature. Standards-based lessons and activities are presented with an emphasis on our unique Mediterranean ecosystem, dynamic local history and threatened watersheds.
Our programs serve predominantly 4th - 6th grades for a three to five day overnight Outdoor Education experience in the heart of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. However, we are able to accommodate additional grade levels. Our programs take place at King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas and Temescal Gateway Park in Pacific Palisades.
Customized day and overnight programs are also available.
