Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area

Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area, managed by the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation, includes large areas of native coastal sage scrub habitat, lawns and landscaped areas, picnic sites, tot lots, a fishing lake, a lotus pond, a community center, and five miles of trails. There are six restrooms; the community center has four administrative offices and a small meeting room.

One of the most actively used features is the park’s variety of footpaths and trails. More than seven miles of existing trails include the 2.2 mile Burke Roche trail, the Bowl Loop at 0.8 miles, the Ridge trail at 2.6 miles, the Waterfall Trial at one mile, and the Ballfield Walking Path at one half-mile.

Active recreation and facilities in the Recreation Area include the following:
● Four playgrounds
● One half basketball court
● One fishing lake
● Two lighted baseball diamonds
● One lit multi-purpose field
● One sand volleyball court
● One administrative building with a meeting room

Passive recreation includes eight picnic rental shelters and 100 picnic tables throughout the park. There are also eight large barbecue pits and 60 small ones dispersed throughout the park.
